Hackathon
The future of biomass heating is in the hands of young (innovators).
On Thursday, May 5, during Progetto Fuoco 2022, a hackathon will be held inside the halls of the Fiera di Verona, a one-day “marathon of ideas” in which students, startuppers and researchers, divided into six teams, will work for an entire day to identify tech solutions to the issues proposed by three leading companies in the sector: Edilkamin, La Nordica Extraflame and Palazzetti.
New systems for air treatment, solutions to reduce consumption and emissions, new functions to use the appliances also “out of season”, techniques to facilitate ordinary maintenance operations by users: these are just some of the challenges that the hackaton participants will have to face, to bring new ideas and skills to a sector that looks to the future with confidence.
To select and guide the young talents will be the professors of SMACT – Competence Center of the Northeast, the technology transfer structure that brings together all the universities of the Triveneto, from Trieste to Bolzano via Padua and Verona. Transversal teams, composed of technicians, engineers, designers and communication experts, who will give their best to win the challenge.

BEFORE THE FAIR
In the months preceding Progetto Fuoco, three leading companies in the sector proposed themes inherent to the field on which the researchers worked.
DURING THE FAIR
Thursday, May 5, 2022:
- 9.00 a.m. – bbrief from companies in public form to participants. Each brief will be developed by 2 teams of 5 people each. A total of 30 students and startuppers will be involved, divided into six groups of five.
- 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. – work of the groups
- 4.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. – presentation of projects and awards ceremony
