Wood energy and energy transition
Veronafiere renews partnership with Aiel for
Italia Legno Energia and Progetto Fuoco
in view of the next editions in 2025 and 2026
Veronafiere and AIEL, the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association, are also renewing their collaboration for the upcoming benchmark events dedicated to wood energy and the biomass heating sector. The technical partnership will therefore also have as its new horizon the next editions of Italia Legno Energia, scheduled in the exhibition spaces of the Arezzo fairgrounds from March 6 to 8, 2025, and Progetto Fuoco, which will return to the fairgrounds in Verona from February 18 to 21, 2026.
The collaboration will take the form of a series of initiatives, from technical tables to seminars, workshops, conventions and moments of professional updating, as well as publications and reports to increase knowledge on the topic of the energy use of woody biomass. Initiatives that will be the focus of Progetto Fuoco, the international benchmark event for biomass heating systems and technologies, which acts as a driver for the promotion of the entire industry chain. From stoves to fireplaces, passing through the most cutting-edge solutions in energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
«We are very pleased to be able to announce the continuation of this collaboration, which is strategic for making the two exhibition products grow together,» comments the president of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo. «AIEL is a technical partner of great value, which has been able to contribute with thick content, useful both to professional operators and to citizens, the end users of biomass heating appliances. For 2025 and 2026, the organizational machine is already in motion and we are sure that, thanks also to AIEL, the next editions of Italia Legno Energia and Progetto Fuoco will be confirmed as a reference point for the sector at the international level.»
AIEL is the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association, which has more than 500 members including producers, distributors, technology manufacturers, designers and retailers, and is dedicated to promoting the proper and sustainable energy valorization of biofuels of agricultural and forestry origin, particularly woody biofuels at all levels, from the forest to the chimney. The Association, whose promoting member is CIA – Agricoltori Italiani, is based at the Agripolis University Campus in Legnaro (PD).
«We are proud to renew our collaboration with Veronafiere, a partnership that, since the first edition of Progetto Fuoco, has proven to be strategic for the growth and promotion of the entire bioenergy sector,» added Domenico Brugnoni, President of AIEL. «Over the years, AIEL and Veronafiere together have worked to highlight the best biomass technologies and to promote the importance of sustainable forest management in a context of energy transition and decarbonization. Collaborating with an important partner like Veronafiere also helps us to keep the focus on the bioenergy sector, which is fundamental to our country’s energy future by covering 64 percent of our thermal energy needs. The combination of AIEL’s technical expertise and Veronafiere’s organizational strength ensures that events like Progetto Fuoco and Italia Legno Energia will continue to be the benchmark for the market.»
Progetto Fuoco is the world’s most important event dedicated to heating appliances and energy production through biomass. The event promoted by Veronafiere is held every two years and will therefore return in 2026 (Feb. 18-21). Italia Legno Energia, on the other hand, returns from March 6-8, 2025 at the Arezzo fairgrounds.
